ROUND THE ISLAND 72 MILES NON STOP - RESULTS

Round the Island Walk Non Stop in 24 hours !!!!

Saturday 8th May the Round the Island Walk was the first walk in our programme and started at 7.30 in the morning.  There were 3 leaders and 15 extremely enthusiastic walkers rearing to go.  Martin Neville, Chris Pritchard and Alan Castledine, were the three experienced leaders, and Martin gave the group a briefing on the walk, before they all set of on the epic walk.

All walkers had previously registered, and in the eyes of the leaders were able to complete the 72 miles in 24 hours.  There were serveral stop off points for light refreshments en route.  The weather was a little cool, and at times light showers, but the group gelled well, but towards the end of the walk, split into three.

Five walkers dropped out, but the remaining 10 finished the gruelling walk - all personal challenges.
