Wightlink is the leading ferry operator which offers customers a choice of the shortest routes across the Solent. Operating 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, Wightlink runs more than 230 sailings daily during the peak summer months (a crossing every half hour throughout most of the day on all three routes).
Two high speed foot passenger FastCat catamarans operate between Portsmouth and Ryde, crossing in just 18 minutes. The Lymington/ Yarmouth route to the west offers the shortest and most scenic car ferry crossing, taking just 30 minutes with the Portsmouth/ Fishbourne car ferry route making the crossing to the east side of the Island in just 40 minutes.
